WONDERFUL

I won this book as a prize , I wasn't sure I would even read it but I love viking novels so I gave it a shot and I love it. Jerrik is compassionate and Rovenia is brave on the whole a good sweet story with out smut!

I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like in the 900s to be kidnapped from Ireland and taken to Norway by Vikings. Stories told for years about savages, pagans and heathens. To not understand anything and to imagine being taken as a slave, gives me shivers. The author does a fabulous job turning this horrible imagination into a wonderful story. One turn of kindness leads to another, there are bogey men and things that go bump in the night but a great. story.

So I usually don't go for "sweet" heat level. (My usual is the hotter the better) but Autrey is so awesome I don't feel anything is missing without my usual fair. I ADORED this story. It's made of awesome. It reminded me of the show Vikings (which I also love) but it was original & unique on it's own. I love the feel, the world & the characters. I really hope Autrey explores this world further & gives us some more stories!!!

Great book for learning AutoCAD from scratch

Great book for learning AutoCAD from scratch. Went through the first couple chapters to get me started and then just found what I needed from there. Was able to create 3D solids in about 2 hours using this book. Gave only 4 stars because the Website did not make downloading the examples easy.

Great guide, especially for brick-and-mortar businesses

If only I had gotten the print version of this book - I really could carry it in my pocket! But it is a massive 224-page guide.

Though suited more for larger brick-and-mortar businesses, as there are chapters on facilities, operations, hiring, financing, and purchasing, as a freelancer and virtual administrative consultant, the tips inside this handy little guide were very useful.

For e-lancers like myself, some of the most important information is in the first several chapters on marketing, sales and e-commerce. I will find that I will be referencing some of these sources for many months to come. The taxes chapter will also be handy.

The key quote that I took away was early in the book: "Every time you're about to spend money on your business, ask yourself if there is a way to avoid, reduce or postpone this cost. Develop this habit, and it will help you set on the road to business success."

This will probably be my mantra for quite some time as I am always low on cash and looking for ways to cut back on expenses. I was really surprised at how much information was new to me, as I considered to be pretty well read on inexpensive ways to save with business building.

What makes the book unique are the case studies Tice uses in her book. Many are local to her - Seattle, Washington - but there are other interesting examples as well. Many of these businesses I have never heard of and found myself wanting to Google them as soon as I encountered them.

Essentially, this is a compendium of all the basic information you will need to start a business with interesting examples to go along with them.

Great business advice in easy-to-grasp language

From the first page of reading "Small Business Owner's Guide to Starting Your Own Business on a Shoestring," I could sense that it was going to be a smooth and pleasant read. Boy, was I right. As I continued on, not only did I sense in the detail of her advice Carol Tice's immense experience in building businesses, but her writing style, albeit on a technical and business topic is conversational and friendly. Every page is full of thorough explanations of the hows and how-to's of building a business the *smart* way.

Let's face it; most of us do not have tons of money to start a business. This book helps us confront that reality: What to watch out for; what not to do; and how not to do it. Additionally, the author lists and explains how to go about getting things done - economically and wisely - step by step.

The author gives many real scenario examples so I was able to see myself in the various points she brought out. As I am now at the stage in my life when I might just start a business in the near future, I found this book eye-opening and honest. The author is someone who has been there and done that, and guides her readers to build a business in the most practical and risk-free manner.

If you are looking for a comfortable read on an important topic that will enhance your financial know-how,this book is definitely for you. I'm already reading it for the second time so that I get the points I missed the first time.

Consistent with Tice's title, she contends that most businesses that close their doors do so because they run out of money. She covers every aspect of starting a business from the same perspective--how to do it as inexpensively as possible.

She succeeds in her goal but her book is more than a laundry list of cost-saving tips. It's not about recycling paper clips and using the backs of discarded reports as scrap paper.

It's more of a checklist of all the alternatives for such functions as market research, e-commerce, facilities, labor and financing because it is rather comprehensive, but it also expands upon each possibility to help you evaluate it in terms of your business.

The book is a great resource, explaining such important topics as how (or if) to conduct a SurveyMonkey survey, how to calculate key financial figures, and the benefits and shortcomings of various corporate legal structures. The book also includes case studies illustrating success stories.

RV is one of the best explanation for some experiences I had in my life the last 20 years, David Morehouse with his approach more focus in the scientific part of RV, made me fill more comfortable with my past and my present, I'm pretty sure my future will be way different now with this knowledge, because it is helping me to control something I thought was wrong with me. I recommend RV in general for everyone and this author for people who is really serious about RV .

great program, however...

This is a very well-organized and easy-to-understand program. I was so excited about what I was learning, only to later find out that this CD-set encompassed only the first three phases of a six-phase program. The next CD-set covering phases four through six will be coming out eventually, but by then, I will most likely need need to review the first program again--not very efficient. I considered taking the resident courses to continue the training, but they only offer phases one through six all together...so for what purpose did I spend the time and money to buy the first CD-set? you got me...

Not A Complete Story

Well written with great characters but the book just ends. No cliffhanger and no resolution, also no warning that its an incomplete book and the beginning of a serial. And yes, I know some will call this a series but I don't. Had the outstanding issues been resolved, this book would have gotten a higher rating.

Squandered Opportunity - some spoilage ahead

This probably going to be the last Amber Kell story I buy. She had 300 pages and squandered them on writing the same things she writes in her short stories: overbearing alpha male boyfriend who makes the decision for both of the characters that they're going to be in a relationship (whether the MC wishes it or no) and that the alpha male is going to pay for all the bills, etc., that the MC has accrued for whatever reason and will soon be drowning in, and that the MCs will bond by the end of the story whether there's a true relationship going on or not. Also, the alpha jerk makes the unanimous decision that he will decided whether Quentin's new job as a bounty hunter is good for him or not and whether the contracts he takes on are too dangerous.

I like Quentin. I like Quentin's mom. I like that they have a very strong relationship with each other. However, Quentin's mom is dying of a very aggressive cancer and nothing the doctors do is making much of a dent in stopping it. Her chances are extremely slim.

Here is a chance for something called *character growth*, because it would have been interesting to see how Quentin becomes truly independent for the first time in his life and how his potential vampire mate would have helped him overcome the grief of losing a loved one. Instead, Kell decided to go the easy route by giving the character an out [by having his mother turned into a vampire], thereby missing a great opportunity for the challenge for her writing to grow and the character to experience one of life's truths. Yes, if you're asking whether I felt cheated at this point, I do feel cheated.

Also, the lack of true relationship building between the two MCs is so frustrating that I don't know where to start. Just because a vampire knows who his one and only will ever be does not mean the other person should not get a say in the how that relationship develops. The vampire can say "I only want to make my mate happy" all he wants, but the fact still remains that he's taken Quentin's choice away from him, something Quentin tells the jerk toward the middle of the book, but by that point Quentin's thinking processes are so muddled by hormones and lust, he's not thinking properly anymore. Thus we get the not in any way romantic lurve scene - after several obligatory interruptions - and absolutely no evidence that other than lust there's anything to recommend these two people to each other, much less the audience. >sigh
