Having studied anatomy, biology, and chemistry before getting back into to the nail industry, I find this book incredibly informative without having to fully turn my "medical brain" back on. Mr. Schoon has a very matter-of-fact, easy-to-understand way of explaining even the most intricate of subjects without making even the newest nail tech. feel unknowledgeable. And, it is an easy read. His books should be required reading for all nail tech. instruction courses!

About the Author

Following seven years of practice at the bar and teaching law, Paul Rylance spent over seven years as Head of Education and Training with Slaughter and May, and SJ Berwin. During this time he became the first Chariman of the Legal Education and Training Group. In 1996 he became an Associate Dean in the Law faculty at UWE, and went on to form the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice. After some thirteen years at UWE, Paul now concentrates on his consultancy practice providing training and consultancy service to a number of City and other leading firms in the South West of England and elsewhere.

Timeless and Rare

Wonderful devotional writings and studies from the Book of Hebrews. Tozer is priceless and timeless. Things he said 40 or 50 years ago still apply today, even things that he foresaw that were not happening then. All his books are like that. He has been called a prophet and he truly was, not in the sense of predicting future events but proclaiming the scriptures so the application of them is timeless and applies as well ltoday as yesterday and will probably apply in the future as well.

The best bet

There are many things we must thank Richard Ellmann for. First of all, his poetry anthologies. Second, his biographies on Wilde, Yeats and Joyce. And finally, this short, delightful, easy-reading book. Four conferences about the best Irish writers ever: Wilde, Yeats, Joyce and Beckett. And the four are masterpieces. They do not talk about the "common places" you are suppossed to here while being in a conference, they try to express a fact, a situation, a place that defines the person they are talking about: Wilde in Oxford, Yeats in his "old age", Joyce and his anxiety looking for facts to write about, Beckett and Naught. I think that everyone interested on these authors should read the book.

Well worth buying and reading

Ellmann's book is a short one of 122 pages, counting index, and is taken from his four lectures on Wilde, Yeats, Joyce, and Beckett that he gave at the Library of Congress. The book is light, easy, and enjoyable reading and can be finished in four short sessions or in one afternoon or evening. Each of the four chapters assumes that the reader has some general familiarity with the man's life and work, but doesn't require expert knowledge.

As a consequence of the lectures being delivered with a gap of one year from one to the next, each chapter is independent of the others, until the last on Beckett, where Ellmann makes an effort to relate each author to the rest. The four men are very different in their styles and personal history, and most of their lives were spent in places other than Dublin, but relating them in one book makes some sense, albeit somewhat forced, because of their strong connections to Ireland and because some of them had met each other and been influenced by each other.

Ellmann's insight into the four men and ability to relate them and their work come from years of close study, including knowing some of the participants. Particularly telling are such references as, "Mrs. Yeats told me ...," and the like. He includes delightful references and jokes that limn character, such as Beckett's ironic take on Descartes, "I suffer, therefore I may be."

Wonderful to have both books in one volume

I have used both volume 1 and volume 2 for years, both or myself and for my students. I am delighted to find both Volumes in one book.

The CD accompaniment is useful for those who on't read music flawlessly, or who don't play the piano. Just remember that as the singer, you are not in charge of the tempi or phrasing that you would be in a live performance.

I bought this in all of the different keys available, for use with my students who sing in different ranges, and most songs work in all of the keys supplied.

Old American Songs Complete Low Voice (Bk/CD) with Piano Accompaniments

Although the copy I bought was advertised "new," it was not. A name was written in the front, markings were on the score, and the CD had been torn out and taped by in.

The Power of Passionate Intention "The Elisha Principle"

Author, Mark Chironna helps believers to study and understand what Elisha's intent was as he pursued Elijah's mantle. He uses scripture and a prophetic perspective to challenge the church to develop a stonger desire to intamacy with Christ. The book gave me a greater understanding of the role that these two prophets play/played in advancing God's kingdom here on earth. The book is written in a way that is easy to follow and the reader should come away with a greater thirst to seek first the kingdom of heaven.

Satisfied my curiosity but did not knock my socks off.

I was maybe expecting to much Wow from an author that shared the same nationality. I'm a Swedish american that was served a lifetime of meals prepared by a exceptional Swedish mother that was raised on a farm. His barbecue recipes just seem plain with no kick up or flare. Actually it lacks character. I like my barbecue cookbook from the Georgia Restaurant that states that it contains secrets that old men take with them to their graves. I also like my Smoking in the Boys Room Cookbook. I do a lot of home cooking and very seldom a repeated recipe so I'm more trusting of a female perspective. I love her Juke sauce and her Carolina and sweet barbecue combination sauce was a guest hit. Her grape salad is to die for. Jonas only contains rubs and barbecue sauce recipes. No marinade or brines. I just returned to using sour dough cultures so his sourdough recipes came at a good time but it is just Cowboy sourdough baked in the sun to activate. I even add Red Boat fish sauce to my injections and brines. Its like the Swedes adding Anchovies to chuck roast recipes in
place of salt. The printing was like the recipes. The recipes were grouped and spaced in typical format of single spacing as if it were a homework essay. In the beginning of the book you see a picture of a mature lady opening the lid on a barbecue that reflects both elegance and ruggedness. I'm drawn to the picture in interest but she's never introduced to the reader. I now know I prefer someone that is a successful honest sharing restaurant owner to author the barbecue book I desire.
