About the Author
Miranda Dickinson has always had a head full of stories. From an early age she dreamed of writing a book that would make the heady heights of Kingswinford Library. Following a Performance Art degree, she began to write in earnest when a friend gave her The World's Slowest PC. She is also a singer-songwriter. Her first novel, Fairytale of New York was a Sunday Times Top 10 title.

LACKING SO MUCH!!

I read the reviews and wanted to give this author a try. I'm always looking for new authors. I enjoy interesting intelligent plot twists and characters. For this genre my favorite is Jill Mansell who is so funny but I realize that not everyone has the gift of humour. Jane Fallon and Jane Green, I like too - I'm sure I'm leaving someone out, but I prefer British authors because I am an anglophile. This book - I kept waiting and waiting for something interesting to happen and really it never did. It dragged all through a year and it wasn't until half-way through that it became interesting. The characters were colorful and clearly drawn, but I felt there was not enough story there for them to work with. And it was so PG that it could be YA, but that is not even what the problem was. This group of characters was rather stagnant - Just a couple of them had love lives. Everyone else was waiting for an anvil on the head. I can't stand such inaction. I like a sexy, intelligent plot and this was not it. Yes, I like romance but this was too light and dawdling.

A Sweet Romantic Tale....

After receiving an email about this book I thought that I must read it because after reading reviews for this book I found it quite intriguing.
You start of with Romily meeting up with her best friend Charlie and she is having a debate in her head about whether she should admit to Charlie that she is in love with him. When she finally reveals her feelings to him, he has no idea how to process what has just been said and that results in Romily running out of the caf� and away from Charlie.
After running away Romily ends up running into a Christmas stall and destroying parts of it, she ends up trying to put it all back together and is shocked that this random stranger actually helps her out. She finds him quite attractive but unfortunately doesn't get his name, soon after they depart ways she finds herself up by the arts and crafts market where out of no where they guy that helped her has came and followed her. They share a brief moment with a kiss and then the guy has to go but before she has chance to find anything else about the guy he disappears into the crowd.
After she goes to visit her Auntie and Uncle she develops the idea of starting a blog with a quest to find the stranger for a whole year. She has no idea if it will work or no but with some encouragement from her bandmates and her Auntie and Uncle she finds her quest spiralling out of control but in a good way because she gets lots of supporters.
The quest is going well but Romily finds that each time she starts getting closer the mystery man she seems to hit a dead end. By the time she is half way through the year her blog has got loads of people following her and encouraging her to continue with her quest, she is already trying to build bridges back with Charlie and it is proving harder than anything else.
Charlie has been acting completely different since the new year and Romily can't quite put her finger on it, but it seems to her that everyone else in their band is in on some big secret and every time they start to say something they all just quickly drop the subject like it's nothing important.
Towards the end of this book I honestly thought that I knew how it would turn out but the way it actually does end completely shocks and throws you. If you honestly want to know what happens at the end then I would definitely pick up this book and read it. Once I did start reading it I couldn't put it down at all, I knew I wouldn't be happy until I read the whole way through.

The actual story is pretty good but the author emphasis too much on the surrounding areas etc there might be over 20 pages each time there are new surrounding so I found I had to skip a lot of pages. It also dragged on a bit too much.
